Discover Your Ancestry with Viking Roots

The Viking Roots project was created to help people learn about their heritage, understand their bloodlines and lineage, and help reunite families together by understanding and connecting their history. While the project was initially created to better understand my Icelandic ancestry which led to my family settling in Gimli, Manitoba, the goal is to connect people from all over the world in one platform where friends and family can speak to each other, fill in blanks within their histories, and unite the past with the present.

The Viking Roots Project Phase 1

In the first phase of this project, you can register your information and begin filling in your profile with information about yourself and your family by answering a few questions. From here, other family members can join and enter their information which may extend the family tree, connect long-lost family members, share stories, and help discover more about your lineage. Where your ancestors originated, their stories, and how their paths lead to where you are today. This can then be added by your own extended family including children to continue to story while connecting online with one another for years to come.
